COMMUNITY SUPPORT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
The TriVillage Mentor League raises all of its own funding through grants, donations,
and via an annual fun(d!)raising event.
TVML Celebrates Most Successful Bid & Benefit Yet!
In November 2009, The TriVillage Mentor League hosted Bid & Benefit Kids In Our Community! An Evening to Celebrate the Positive Power of Mentoring! at Marble Cliff's Our Lady of Victory Parish Center, with the goal of raising awareness and generating funding for community mentoring opportunities and programs. The Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights, and greater community was incredibly generous!
TVML 2009 Bid & Benefit Fun Way to Fundraise for All
More than 230 guests enjoyed great food, live music along with a silent auction that offered something for everyone.
Even in this uncertain economy, this year's Bid & Benefit received more support than ever before! The event raised nearly $20,000. All of this money will be carefully and thoughtfully reinvested into the TriVillage area to enhance mentoring programming, outreach, and scholarship efforts and to support our school-based mentoring partnership programs in the Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights school districts. In 2009, your collective support has allowed our collective efforts to assist more than 250 youngsters, teens and adults.
Thank you to 2009 Bid & Benefit sponsors: Anderson Aluminum Corporation, Huffman’s Market, Thomas-Fenner-Woods Agency, Inc., The Arlington Bank, HER Real Living: Tracee Ribar & Kathy Panning, Celia D. Crossley and Associates, Ltd., Jones Day, Tri-Village Chiropractic Clinic, and De-Arini’s Villa Cementos Restaurant.

As always, Bid & Benefit proceeds support the work of the TriVillage Mentor League and its John Miller Scholarship Fund.
The TriVillage Mentor League (TVML) continues to celebrate and support the positive power of mentoring through a variety of programming efforts.
- A school-based mentoring program that positively impacts approximately 140 teens and youngsters each school year in the Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights districts. This will be our ninth year of bringing this free program to the area schools.
- Providing college scholarships through the John Miller Scholarship Fund annually to outstanding volunteer teen mentors who volunteer with our school-based mentoring program as well as summer enrichment scholarship opportunities to need-based youngsters that will provide the youngsters with a safe, healthy, and encouraging atmosphere with positive role modeling and mentoring.
- Identification and nomination of deserving youngsters to attend one of six Tim Horton Children’s Foundation Summer Camps. In the past seven years, our efforts have enabled 74 youngsters the opporuntiy to have this potentially life-changing experience. This we do in partnership with local Tim Hortons franchise owners, the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation, and the Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights school districts.
- TVML participates in community collaborations to promote healthy youth development and volunteerism. Partners include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio; Members First Credit Union; Volunteer UA; the Mentoring Center of Central Ohio; the Grandview Area Chamber and others!
- Traditional, one-to-one mentoring opportunities for youngsters and adult volunteers in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.
